See that quincunx, how beautiful it is! What can you observe more graceful?

The choices of L’Espresso - Vini d’Italia 2012

...and now, after Gambero Rosso, the first results of Vini d’Italia 2012, edited by Italian newmagazine L’Espresso. This guide shows an increasing interest towards natural and terroir wines, and you’d consider us too biased if we went on praising an approach of this kind. As always, we recommend you to judge the reliability of this and every other guide based on your own preferences. This said, we hope you allow us to show our satisfaction for the awards obtained by three of the producers from the Quincunx portfolio, listed among the Vini d’Eccellenza, the best labels selected by the editorial staff:

Vini d’Italia shares the appreciation for Gulfi’s Nero Bufaleffj 2007, grand cru of Nero d’Avola already commended by Gambero Rosso and inserted by the Espresso guide among Italy’s 100 best wines.

It would have been odd not to find Ferrandes’ Passito di Pantelleria 2007: its rating of 18.5/20 is not topped by any other Italian dessert wine in the guide.

Last, but not least, a particular honour for Savino’s Nero Sichilli 2009. The first bottled vintage from the vineyard in the heart of Vendicari Natural Reserve is already in the list of Italy’s best wines. We hope that Vittorio Savino, Salvo Foti and the Vigneri team might accept our compliments for this success, fruit of hard work and brave decisions.
